Murphy, N.C. and Nat's Wedding

March was fun! Blakely made her first trip to North Carolina with the fam. Although we missed Aunt Amy, Uncle Jeff, and Cousins Jake and Brooke, we had fun with Poppa, Grandmomma Sherry, Aunt Meg and Uncle Kurt. It rained a lot, but we enjoyed playing ping pong (congrats to Aunt Meg on winning the tournament), Rock Band, and Cranium. We also all caught up on our sleep. Even B! She said the mountains are great for sleeping! We even managed to have lunch with Casey in Atlanta on our way up! Here are a few pictures:

Blakely also got to attend her first wedding! Congratulations Miss Natalie and Mr. Scott! She slept in the car during the ceremony. Don't worry, Jim was in there with her ;)! Then ate, and was ready to party at the reception. She was a trooper for a couple of hours and let mommy and daddy visit with friends, but when she was ready to go (about 8:15), she was READY! Here she is all dressed up for the wedding:

A Busy 4th Month

Since Blakely turns 5 months old tomorrow, I thought we'd update you on her 4th month! Blakely turned 4 months old on February 12th! At her 4 month checkup, she weighed 15 lbs. 6 oz. and was 26 inches long!! This month she experienced LOTS of firsts! Some were fun (going to her first birthday party, her first snow), some were not so fun (getting her first stomach bug and cold), and some were really exciting (trying solid foods, rolling from back to front)! Happy (Belated) 3 Month Birthday!

January 12, 2009 was Blakely's 3 month birthday. However, we have been having computer issues, so I am just now able to post a few pictures.

Like her mommy, she enjoys relaxing in the tub! ;) Hair-do compliments of daddy! She also REALLY laughed for the first time right before this picture!

We also went to the doctor around her 3 month birthday to have her reflux medicine changed. She weighed 14 pounds even! So, even with all of the spitting up and reflux issues, she is continuing to grow. We are so thankful for that! Please pray with us that these issues would continue to resolve and that we would know how to best treat them.

A BIG day for B Baby!

As we tried to get back to our regular routine this week after several weeks of travel, Blakely decided to spice things up. On Monday she was having some "tummy time" on the floor. Sometimes she loves to lay on her tummy, pushing up and looking at her toys, and others she just cries until I get her up. So Monday was a day when she was actually enjoying tummy time for a little while. She started to fuss and I waited to see what she would do. She must have gotten tired of waiting on me because sweet girl just went ahead and rolled over onto her back! She looked a little surprised at first, then smiled when she saw me smiling at her! We celebrated for a minute or so, and then I tried to get her to do it again. THIS WAS NOT A SMART MOVE! As soon as I flipped her on her tummy again, she started screaming! I scooped her up and gave her lots of cuddles, but it took a looooong while to settle her down. I guess I learned my lesson! This girl will not be pushed around! Much to her daddy's dismay I did not have a camera (video or any other type) around when Blakely decided to roll over, so these pictures of other, everyday, tummy times will have to do until we can capture her new trick on film!

The Most Wonderful Time of the Year

Sorry to those of you who check our blog regularly for not updating it in SO long! Blakely is now 12 weeks old, and there is not much time for blogging! However, while she's sleeping I will quickly try to update you on our busy, but wonderful, holiday season!

We kicked off December with a FABULOUS get-together with friends in B'ham. B-baby got to see Mac and Rhett, and Jim and I enjoyed catching up with some of our favorite people!

The next weekend, we celebrated the 6th birthday of our sweet nephew Jake and talked about how we feel like it was just yesterday that he was B's age!

Finally, we got to spend time with our families- eating, exchanging gifts, and laughing A LOT! We feel so blessed to have been able to celebrate the birth of our Savior with all of the people we love. While we were celebrating the gift of His life, we were constantly reminded of the many other gifts He has given us in our families and friends. We hope you all had a VERY merry Christmas and a wonderful new year. We can't wait to see what 2009 holds for us!
